The Database Administrator is accountable for the availability, performance, security, integrity, reliability and recoverability of the organisation’s databases. The function will administer and help production, improvement and UAT database environments, with specific focus on Microsoft SQL Server and databases assisting necessary business applications, ERP, financial, billing and reporting systems.
The DBA will make sure that databases are suitable maintained, monitored, secured and backed up, while providing technical help for database-related incidents, performance issues, device implementations, improvements and catastrophe recovery activities. The position requires a high level of technical self-discipline because the databases support business-critical and financially sensitive applications.
Formal Qualification required
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Database Administration; or a related field. Relevant Microsoft SQL Server certification.
Microsoft Azure database-related certification. ITIL Foundation or equal service-management certification. Relevant cybersecurity certification

Database Administration
Install, configure and keep Microsoft SQL Server environments.
Create, configure and hold databases.
Manage database instances, databases, schemas and database objects.
