INTERMEDIATE BUSINESS ANALYST NEEDED
Intermediate business analyst to assist in systems analysis efforts, including modeling of processes, data, rules, and messages underlying the intended functional behavior of the system to be built.
Qualifications, skills and experience required:
Tertiary degree in Commerce, Computer Science or Information Systems.
Business Analysis Diploma\Certification is advantageous but not required.
3-5 years of work experience as a business analyst, preferably with exposure to large-scale enterprise software solutions.
Demonstrable experience in engaging stakeholders to facilitate discussions and workshops to understand the requirements.
The ability to make formal presentations for various teams including UX, BA, Engineers, Test Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers.
A solid understanding of the SDLC and the role of the business analyst, covering startup, requirements management, and transition to the target operating environment.
Proficiency in the use of Enterprise Architect (EA), Excel, Confluence and JIRA. Experience in developing and applying UML models is required, preferably in Sparx Enterprise Architect or a similar tool.
Experience in software testing/QA and knowledge of measurement/function point analysis is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain committed and trusting relationships with stakeholders through effective communication, expectations management, collaboration, and positive engagement.
Carry out data collection and analysis to understand business requirements, using knowledge, skills and abilities to solve problems and information requirements.
Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, discover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions.
Direct the course of information gathering engagements with stakeholders in a semi-structured and formally structured manner.
Keep detailed notes of requirements engagement sessions and use them to report/verify the accuracy of captured requirements.
Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them, facilitating discussions and workshops to understand requirements.
Capture and/or change requirements in Enterprise Architect (EA), Excel, Confluence, and JIRA in accordance with company methodologies, standards, and guidelines. This may include capturing and documenting Change Proposals (CCPs).
Prepare and maintain project documentation and artifacts.
Audit the accuracy and integrity of built systems by running the software and comparing actual system behavior to specified behavior. Provide feedback to the manager and senior BA(s) on the project/system regarding any discrepancies found.
