Youth Programmes Internship

Youth@SAIIA is looking to appoint a new part-time intern to assist with our growing programmes.

The successful applicant will have a passion for working with high school learners, teachers, and youth participants; have a strong interest in current events and global issues and a desire to be part of a dynamic team.

This position is paid and is based at SAIIA’s head office in Johannesburg. Remote work is possible for outstanding candidates based in other parts of South Africa, but will be at the discretion of SAIIA.

YOUTH PROGRAMMES INTERNSHIP (YPI – 23) 6-month contract R6400 per month

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting in the writing of topics packs and resource materials for participants and educators;

Excited about developing social media campaigns, posts, and engagements;

Assisting with workshops and Youth@SAIIA events;

Assisting with chairing and running of our national negotiations debate programme;

Assisting with our policy participation work;

Working with our team and youth network to develop social media posts and campaigns; and

Undertaking various administrative tasks.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS

University student applicants must be in at least their second year of study;

Good writing and research skills;

Interest in current events and global issues and a desire to be part of an active team

Good planning and organising skills; and

Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

Previous participation in Youth@SAIIA programmes is advantageous.
