Overview
To supervise the Food Group’s data management while making sure the data is appropriate for usage in compliance with the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DAMA-DMBOK©). By interacting with technical experts, business stakeholders, and executives, the business data steward will work across functional boundaries to improve and impact the group’s utilization, quality, accessibility, and comprehension of data. Data Governance & Security job description:
Monitoring data access and making sure use regulations are understood and authorized Enforcing alignment and compliance with corporate governance policies, protocols, and practices governing the responsible use and distribution of data through the implementation of processes, guidelines, and standards
Participation in data migration, integration, and cleaning
Participating in data categorization exercises with IT architects and data custodians
Acceptance of the requirements for data archiving and retention
Quality of Data:
Putting in place processes for identifying, fixing, and avoiding problems with data quality
recommending fixes for data issues and reaching agreements that improve data administration and utilization within the Food Group
Working together with stakeholders to address problems or challenges that impact data quality Using leadership channels and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to create data quality management mechanisms (e.g., setting up KPIs to drive data quality)
Putting in place data management monitoring tools (such as dashboards and/or reports) that may be used to track, evaluate, and encourage improved behavior
Data validation and profiling in relation to the anticipated standards for data quality
Support for data during the stages of analysis and testing (if applicable)
Management of Metadata and Data Definitions:
Establishing and upholding business measure definitions and regulations; requires stakeholder participation to reach consensus on definitions and computations of analytical and reporting data

Respond to requests for business metadata access and interpretation by acting as the subject matter expert (SME) for food.

Oversee any modifications to data definitions, usage, access, rules, and administration in accordance with Food Group data governance standards and procedures.
Technical Competence Minimum Requirements:
A relevant degree, such as a B.Com. or its equivalent
Excellent SQL and advanced Excel capabilities
Strong grasp of the principles of data modeling and data warehousing
Strong analytical abilities and familiarity with BI visualization technologies (such as QlikSense) are preferred.
Proficiency in handling huge data sets and familiarity with combining many data sources for reporting and analysis
strong awareness of and regard for data purity and integrity
Knowledge of procedures and the life cycle of systems development three to five years of experience in relation to the aforementioned criteria
